Real Life Stem Cell Stories
These are real stories from real people who have already been waiting too long for the promise of stem cell research. Read them -- and then take action:
1) Tell your elected
officials to get rid of outdated policies and regulations that have already
held up stem cell research for too long; 2) Make a donation to StemPAC, and
help us spread the word. It's a grassroots movement, and we don't need much --
but any amount helps.

In otherwise excellent health, I have had Stage III colon cancer and live with the possibility of being revisited by the same or a different form of cancer. A younger cousin also survives this disease so it is likely that we have an hereditary factor in our family. For this personal reason, I would like to see stem cell research take on the complexities of cancer, which is a systemic disease.
Like many older Americans, I have an elderly parent who has a moderate form of dementia, a condition that might be amenable to treatment with modalities developed by stem cell research.
As it is, my cousin, my father, and I are unlikely to live to gain any benefits from stem cell research, particularly when the U.S. government deliberately blocks advances, putting ideological correctness over scientific knowledge. Even so, I look forward to a future in which many deadly diseases will be amenable to control and cure through new treatments using stem cells.
