Real Life Stem Cell Stories
These are real stories from real people who have already been waiting too long for the promise of stem cell research. Read them -- and then take action:
1) Tell your elected
officials to get rid of outdated policies and regulations that have already
held up stem cell research for too long; 2) Make a donation to StemPAC, and
help us spread the word. It's a grassroots movement, and we don't need much --
but any amount helps.

Hello. My name is Sabrina Cohen. I was born and raised in Miami Beach and I'm currently 27-years-old. At the age of 14, I suffered a severe C-3, 4 and 5 spinal cord injury as a result of a drag racing accident. I was a backseat passenger in the vehicle without a seatbelt and like millions of others, a split second changed my life forever. I've been confined to a wheelchair ever since.
From day one I became involved in speaking to elementary and high school students on the importance of driving safe and making the right decisions in life, while speaking to community groups and mentoring newly injured individuals. A little over a year ago, however, a new mission was added to my life. I discovered the amazing possibilities of embryonic stem cell research and ever since, I became a passionate advocate and spokesperson for advancing this cause.
I'm currently the Associate Director of the Genetics Policy Institute, the leading nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing stem cell research, and have found that together, we can all work towards making a significant difference in the future of regenerative medicine. I am confident that we will see many medical breakthroughs in the near future.
My hope has been reignited, as have millions of others but that light at the end of the tunnel will shine bright once all of our voices are heard.
